These are the ultimate “bad guys” that roam from place to place stealing every cell’s positive energy and leaving them for dead. How are these criminals produced? Though there are many contributing factors, the Urea Cycle
( waste facility ) is by far, the largest free radical and oxidant producer in the community. Remember the waste facility aka #urea cycle is responsible for cleaning up most of the toxic waste generated within the community. Think of this cycle as your local garbage dump replete with trucks transporting recyclables and trash via the liver’s main highway ( #CBS ). In the Waste Facility, a lack of BH4 either leads to the free radical known as #peroxynitrate (PN) or the #oxidant that acts as a lethal weapon, super oxide ( #SO ). If there is only a mild #BH4 shortage, PN production begins whereas a severe deficiency leads to the manufacturing of SO. And so begins their violent rampage of murder and destruction while the healthy cells either flee the city or are crushed in the melee.
It is important to consider that with continued and/or persistent exposures to harmful encounters and substances, you’ll find more criminals preying on the productive and healthier cells. There are many events and behaviors that contribute to toxic exposures, thereby markedly increasing your risks for developing chronic disease. Though there are hundreds of possibilities, below you will find the most common activities that increase free radicals:
• Exercising outdoors on a high smog day
• Eating fish (tuna) that is often laden with #mercury , #dioxin, and #PCBs
• Drinking too much alcohol
• Eating fast or fried foods
• Smoking or second hand smoke
• Using illicit drugs
• Eating foods with pesticides & #toxic dyes, #preservatives & #phenols
Regrettably, the processed #foods that most of us eat are bursting with glutamates ( #MSG / #aspartame ) and this causes substantial free radical damage. The chemicals and additives used in the food supply such as “natural flavors”, #bouillon , #hydrolyzed protein, #xanthum gum and #guar gum are all examples of hidden MSG. #Glutamates cause widespread #mitochondrial , nerve and brain cell damage by allowing free radicals to flourish. Sadly, this doesn’t even begin to account for the effect of pesticides, toxic preservatives, and artificial coloring. Anything that enhances #BH4 levels or acts as a free radical scavenger or #antioxidant is often highly beneficial.
To summarize the chief issues associated with free radical damage and oxidation:
1). Blood vessels won’t have nitric oxide (NO) for protection & may develop spasms/narrowing or plaques.
